Nice photos 262, I sure would like to hear a DB schmitt fly some day, I hear they have a different growl to them.

VERY DIFFERENT INDEED :!: This was the first time I have ever seen a BF109 fly, and the sound of the super charger sounded like bottle rockets :!: You can hear it coming at you but especially when it went past you :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

We noticed that the Virgins exhaust note was deeper than that of either HELL-ER BUST or EPUPA, and the DB is pure, no messin' around business! very deep and, as 262 notes, the bottle rocket sounds coming from the supercharger. :o

The missing man really did make it very hard for all of us deeply involved in aviation to see very well for a couple of minutes. I may have been taking pictures, but my cap was definately laying on the ground for that gentleman. It was done in very good taste and to watch EPUPA soar away up and West was very emotional and fitting-in fact typing this and recalling it is making my vision a bit blurry right now! Bud's part of the big formation now-

Bad Kitty didn't fly, at least between Noon and 1330 when things ended, suspect a maintenance issue as they were running #1 over by central parking around 1130, but who really cares? only two things beat the sound of a 2800, A) two 2800's and B) four of them- :)

Nice job again by 262, I'm still fighting to get my photos away from Microsquish Messenger so I can transmit them

For some reason I can't post the video here but you can hear the 109 by going here---> http://www.flickr.com/photos/spookythecat/2791028329/

What an awesome and touching day. I was so glad to hear the Bf 109 and see it in the air and the three Mustangs together as well.

I just noticed that some of the syntax had been magically strained through some P.C. filter in my post about todays activities @ KPAE.
The P-51 in question IS NOT NAMED HECK OR BUST!

Since the P.C. programmers seem to want to sanitize everything, why then don't you also sanitize the photos so no one will be offended to read the name of the aircraft in bright yellow on blue paint? How about big digitized squares over the aircrafts name so 'no one will be offended', that could be extended to photos of a certain B-24 in the NMUSAF.

I could understand if the language was raw or off color, crude or demeaning to some group, but Come On!!!!! Someone needs to get a lifestyle here.

I'm reminded of a news story about some ultra conservative religious group thats 'cleansed' it's type setting software in it's little rag of a paper to the point that in a story about Olympic sprinter Michael Gay, his name was changed to Michael homosexual in their paper-

Does this mean that if That classic academy award winning airplane movie from 1927 is on TV we'll all be notified by someone in the group that 'Hecks Angels' starring Buddy Rogers is coming on? What about the Audie Murphy bio pic 'To heck and back'? "Heck has no Heros'? the Lee Marvin film 'Heck in the Pacific'? What about stories about Curtiss SB2C 'Heckdivers"? Grumman 'Heckcats'? What about armor? a T-10 'Heckcat' tank killer?

am I wrong in this or...?

Only for expecting "common sense" to be common in America today. Very sad commentary while we give lip service to "the greatest generation". They fought and died to make America the greatest country in history. Now, it's "not so much so".

Why don't you get your own site and you can set the filters to whatever you want. You claim to be an advocate of "common sense" yet common sense would tell most to act appropriately when in other people's houses. Same rule applies here.

Rich your whole grand stance to turn a simple bad word filter that comes by default with the software that is used to host this site into a metaphorical spitting in the face of "the greatest generation" is a stretch even by your own standards. Nobody has ever fought and died so the guests in someones property could use, berate, and insult the hosts. Remember, you are a guest here and this isn't your right to free speech as this isn't even your property. If you want free speech you have a right to start and pay for your own site and say whatever you want, or spray paint whatever 4 letters words you want all over your house and car. That is your property, do as you want.

You guys are acting like a bunch of spoiled children who have gotten their way for too long and now think they can tell the parents what to do with their stuff. Grow up!

"says the unpopular teacher"...

Then, 'common sense' (defined as a preconceived set of prejudices arrived at before age 18) should apply here, as you say it should when visiting other peoples homes then would you censor the conversation but allow 'dirty' pictures to be circulated? Or is your opening statement just your attempt to wave your double standard flag for all to see?
The basic thrust (not offended by that word are you?) was it seems pretty ridiculous and petty to be prevented from writing a common, everyday word (if you go to an organized church, does the Pastor threaten you with Heck and Darnednation?) yet still look at the pictures containing what you seem to percieve as dirty words?
As for me, I hear far worse language flowing out of 13 year olds mouths as they pass going to or coming home from school and it's no big deal to them, it's just part of the vernacular. I've spent 44 years in aviation and there really isn't anything I haven't heard including some pretty clever couplings of statements on how things are proceeding including female mechanics who can usually give something a direct appraisal!

I encountered this problem before the word H&LL and others are filtered out automatically, there are ways around it. Like when the FCC cracked down on radio shows the hosts had to get creative with their wording.... such as "oral negotiation" But this post is not about P.C. or not nor is it about your opinion over his or hers, its about a FANTASTIC DAY OF FLYING AND REMBERENCE :!: :!: :!: SO A BIG BIG THANK YOU TO MR. ALLEN AND MR. SESSIONS FOR THEIR GENEROSITY AND ESPECIALY A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE GREATEST GENERATION IF NOT FOR THEM WE WOULD ALL BE GOOSE STEPPING TO THE SHOWER :!:

Gorgeous photos, thank you for sharing. It looks like a very touching day indeed. I would hope to see a Bf-109 fly, myself. That Emil looks spotless! Of course the P-51s look great as well, what's not to love there?
