Collings Battle Creek Tour Stop ~ Aug 6th - 8th 2008

The Collings Foundation's tour stop at Battle Creek, MI presented an opportunity to get up close for some pictures and take a ride in the B-17 
In the UK and Europe signs like these would cause a very large queue of passengers to form .......
I really liked the look of the FBO facility .....
Can you tell what it is yet ?
Nine-O-Nine sits out the afternoon .....
Fellow WIXer and B-17 Co-Pilot for my ride ~ Taigh Ramey gives 909 some TLC prior to the flight from the ladder closest to the camera .....
With the prospect of rain coming ~ it's time to put the Mustang away .....

That's only about a mile from my house. Naturally, they picked the week I was out of town on vacation to make this year's only stops in Michigan. 
The bipe is one of the reproductions built by Waco Classic Aircraft. I think it's their deomstrator, as I see it cruising around town from time to time. Looks like the Collings boys were parked in front of Waco's factory/restoration facility.
