Thought i would start an Ebay Shop as a hobby,i have heaps of Warbird parts and i don't want to send it all to the scrappy.

It has become the largest Warbird resto shop in the world.So i guess that sort of tells you how it's going.
They don't allow visitors now it's the liability insurance,and crap like that sort of ruined that aspect.
I am sorry guys i can't take any photos of the place for you.
If anyone wants a F4U center section better speak up now.
If you want to look through the place you have to ring the boss and do a bit of bum kissing might get you a peek.

How are the Tony`s doing ?
Still curious what they will all use for engines. I read the one for J Yagen will getting a real McCoy, but I still wonder about the other ones.

surely your comment about "It has become the largest Warbird resto shop in the world" is a joke right?
can you list the number of total restorations your team has completed to date? I would love to read the list of which currently flying warbirds in the world today have been completed by your workshop. Not trying to pick a fight here but simply doing contracts and trades and having the finishing touches done by others doesn't constitute a warbird restoration facility in my books. Please correct me if I'm wrong but technically we are all still waiting to see the first 'entire' restoration (not reproduction) come from Wang.

DITTO Shelldrake, "Largest warbird resto shop in the world" Thats a hellof a call! It must be a joke. Sorry Mick but when you talk to past customers of the "largest warbird resto shop" why is it they allways have only BAD things to report about the quality of the workmanship out of there? Why is there allways "comments" made of long lists of "defects" and "poor workmanship"....
There are many quality shops with hard working crews all over the world that go about there work restoring great birds. All this done without "pinning badges" on themselves!
As to your comments suggesting you "do not want to send your parts to the scrappy" rather try and sell them on Ebay! WELL any genuine enthusiast with a real "feel" for these parts would shudder at the suggestion of sending ANY parts to the scrappy's!

using the words restoration and scrap in the same sentence when talking warbids is nothing more than a sin. I've never scrapped anything, always found some use for all the items even if I had to donate to a museum or something, besides, we have a thread here for unused or unwanted parts, why not list the 'scrapped' items here mick and let our fellow Wixers find homes for the stuff? oh wait, you and I already know the answer to that question.......

I think you have the wrong end of the stick, maybe its an Australian thing. I think metalman and I are pulling micks chain, its a way of saying 'yeah right mate' which is kinda saying what ever you think but your not quite right. If that all makes sense. metalman is correct, there have been complaints but to be fair those I have heard relate to earlier works and to the best of my knowledge standards have improved. Certainly this is reflected in the comments relating to recent inspections and, as we all know Australia has some very strict guidelines via CASA (thats the mob from the government who try to maintain airsafety type standards, you know, stop doors falling off ----- just don't mention Qantas!) The comparison between worlds largest and worlds best was an error in judgement but in my defense I was trying to predict what may have been a possible response, I should have clarified that for those on the Wix who are not familiar with our national sense of humour (don't go there with the harbor harbour thing either).
I would imagine Mick has taken the feedback as it was intended, crude (we tend not to beat around the bush here with how we feel and don't take things too personally - prevents silly things happening like wars, attacks, paybacks and rap music) nevertheless it was accurate.
So, I agree with the last part of your post, there are lost of 'bits and pieces' being worked on and the last time I was there the P-39 was the most complete piece of work done by this facility, can't wait to see that fly.
