Wow, sounds like a neat guy! "World's oldest active pilot", according to Wikipedia!
He has got to be a rarity. I don't know of any other currently flying ex-W.W.II Luftwaffe pilots, do you?

Great to see Bob still going strong. Its also great to see that many german WW II trainers together. I hope a photo flight was put together with all of them!

On the other side, Ken Wallis (born 1916) is still an active pilot of his own autogyros, and I'd bet is the only pilot active today with combat time in Vickers Wellingtons. I almost literally bumped into him at another recent Old Warden show, and he's looking nothing over 60, IMHO.
