And noted with interest the parts about the effectiveness of German night fighters. It made me think of swiming at night on a deep ocean, just waiting for a shark to come up from below and rip you to pieces. The whole idea that on a moonlit night, all they had to do was...look up. Somehow I don't believe I would have made it as an airman in those days. It just took huge cojones, if you ask me.
