Looking for some AirVenture volunteers

Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:22 pm

Hi Folks,

As some of you know, I run EAA's Timeless Voices of Aviation video oral history program. During AirVenture I have a tent set up in the Warbirds area very near the Warbirds In Review hardstand where my volunteers and I answer questions about the program and sign people up to share their aviation stories during the week of AirVenture. I just learned that a couple of my key volunteers will not be able to make it this year, which leaves me short on people to staff the tent during the week (July 28-Aug 3). I am especially short on people from Monday to Wednesday, but could use extra help all week.

Is anyone interested in volunteering for me? Basically all you would have to do is sit in the shade and answer basic questions that people might ask, and schedule anyone interested in telling their story in one of two schedule books. Pretty simple and you'll have the opportunity to meet alot of neat people, including a number of WWII vets that tend to stop by. Water and a box lunches are provided to all my volunteers, and in return for working a four hour shift (either 8am to noon, or 1pm to 5pm), you'll get an AirVenture wristband pass for the day. Volunteer to put in 3 or more days and you'll get a weekly pass in advance.

If you are interested, please email me at zbaughman@eaa.org or give me a call on my office line at 920-426-6839. Thanks much and I hope to see you at AirVenture!

Zack
