Independence day flyover

Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:02 pm

I rode along for the Independence Day flyover in Moorpark, CA. The smoke from the fires to the West made things challenging, but interesting. I have a few photos up on my website it you want to see them at:

Seeing a missing man formation as the #3 pulls up and out is a moving experience.

That was a nice evening for flying. Great pictures Eric! I'm sure my backseater will appreciate them.

Thanks for taking this shutterbug up for some shots!

I didn't realize you were a WIXer, Stu.

Yeah Eric I am a WIXer (not a very good one). I will see what I can do to get you out on one of our missions over the boat. You will never get better photos then that! We really don't have any good photos from those flights.

Nice photography!

A "German" T-6?

That's not too far of a stretch, Django--the Luftwaffe got quite a few Yales when they overran France.

It's actually part of the Condor Squadron, based at Van Nuys. They have some of their T-6s in German markings for mock aerial battles that they do. Someone has to be the "bad guys".
