And don't forget it's my 3rd annual 29th birthday as well. Yep, I was a '76 baby. Don't get any more 'merican than that!

Happy Independence Day everyone down there from up here in Canada!!!

I have a lot of respect you; the land of the free. You guys did amazing things in WWI and WWII and without you guys, the world would certainly be a different place.

You have a great country and I think every country out there can learn something from you guys. Whether it's something big or something small, there is always going to be something the USA is better at than most other countries.

I raise a glass to your independence!

cheers,

David M.

Ok, I give up. I suppose that with the international dateline, et. all, it's ok to call it the Fourth by now. Either that or I can go with the Hebrew tradition based on Genesis - and there was Evening and Morning, the first day!

First, I want to express my gratitude for our Founding Fathers - and their Scottish and English ancestors who taught them the principles of freedom and liberty. From the brave men who forced King John to acknowledge that even Kings are subject to law, to the Scottish Covenanters, who acknowledged that all men are ultimately under a greater King than any earthly King, from whom we derive are inalienable rights, to those under Cromwell, and many others in our collective history. Ultimately, I am truly grateful to God, who's hand clearly directed our country's founding.

I am also grateful for my own ancestors who fought (at least two of them) and gave teeth to the documents and ideas being put forth by such noble statesmen as Patrick Henry, and George Washington. Would that we had more such men today!

Here's my first July 4th contribution from Footnote gleaning:

Have a safe one everyone. Watch out for all the drunk drivers on the road this time of year.

Well, as I plan on being away from any form of internet for at least the next 24 hours and possibly the next 48, I wish everyone a happy 4th. I saw Cavanaugh's T-6 fly over Richardson about 45 minutes ago while getting dinner. I'm bummed because I don't get off until 10pm and so I'm missing Kaboom Town.

Someone tell Doug to lead the formation over Arapaho and Plano Rd...
