Sunday we had an Alert 3 involving a P-51 Mustang " Luscious Lisa". No injuries to report. Right main was messed up, prop ground and bent, right wing rubbed.

It is terrible to hear this news, but I am glad the incident didn't turn into something any worse. Hopefully enough funds are in place, or can be put together quickly for repairs.

Just got a call from a friend of mine who was down there working today, he saw it sitting outside by the tower. I was hoping he was going to tell me he got me some pictures. He couldnt see it very well from the GA ramp.

I see M/M has the airplane listed as operated from Key West.

Anybody here know these folks?
Its only 90 miles from us and we can help out if needed.

Its not really Key West. Its about half way back to the mainland at Marathon Airport on Marathon. Its in the hangar at the NE corner of the airport. When I was there last spring, there was a BT13 Wing lying outside (Thanks P51Fixer).

That does NOT look like a P-51 wing.

The wing looks like BT-13. Not a Mustang wing.

Looks like a BT-13 Center Section to me
Has for the P-51 a real bummer!!! Looks like engine ,prop,
gear and probable wing damage. Hope she's fly'in soon!!

I think you're right Jack. Looks like a BT-13 wing to me too. Hate to see any airplane dinged up. Just glad everyone is OK and that the plane is repairable

Ouch!

How the hell did the rim come off the wheel? That suggests wheel failure, not a blown tire
