I know! After dealing with pilots who fly warbirds for the last 50 years I can tell you it can get downright expensive too :-)))

?????

I recall your name from a nice Reader's Digest article about a ANG P-51 pilot published years (20?) ago.
Capt Bob Shotwell is his name maybe??

Welcome Sir Dudley! I am enjoying your "gift" as we speak. Look forward to your membership in our "family"! 8)

Welcome to the board! The exits are here, here and here, and in the case of an emergency oxygen masks will drop from the ceiling.

All silliness aside, I didn't read the reader's Digest article so do you think you could tell us all about yourself?

Cheers,

David

I'm retired. Spent most of my aviation career in flight safety and instruction, primarily in aerobatics. Mostly free lance tutoring. Did a bit of demonstration flying back in the stone ages in the Mustang and other airplanes.
I still consult within the air show display flying community on flight safety matters and am presently working with an international work group of display pilots dealing with the human factors issue in display accidents.
Googling IFPF History reveals a bit of additional historical information.

Welcome to the board, I hope you enjoy your stay here. Do you have by chance any photo of the old days in the Mustang, Please....?

TIA,

Lynn

Not much left from the old days. We have a few letters and photos from friends but not much in personal stuff.

The 51 was part of a divorce settlement (not mine...the owners' :-)
and that's a story that the owner likes left alone :-))

Welcome to the circus, but if you've dealt with warbirders in your past you'll fit right in and may be called upon now and again to settle a finer point in some discussion.
Donot be afraid to jump in at any time and remember that most beatings are only punitive in nature and not meant to discourage or dishearten you, and we've all been in the dock at least once each year.
Sit back and relax and don't expect meal service, I'll take $15 for that first piece of personal baggage.............. :D :D 8)

Thanks everybody. It's good to see that the beer is cold in the Warbird hangar :-)
