Cool!
I've always wondered what was the point of sticking that teeny little motorcycle front wheel on the kettenkrad. It can't have been very effective in steering the thing.

THey had track breaks. If you turn the handlebars up to about 5% the wheel turns it. Any more and the track break engages and the whole darn thin swings around.

I've seen pictures of the Kettenkrads carrying ammuniton to the frontlines, pulling samall wheeled howitzers and even with a litter strapped across the back. Similar cpmparison would bes maybe our M-274 Mules used in Vietnam and later. Or the Studebaker M-29C Weasel used in WW.II.
