St. Charles County Smartt Airport:

This is how Portage Rd @ Grafton Ferry Rd (looking East) looked Friday (06/20) afternoon; the water is already at the hangar floor level in the North part of the airfield.

During the 1993 flood, the T-33 seen below, was submerged in water; a photo at the "Kilroy" cafe, shows the T-33 with only the top of the vertical stabilizer and the top of the canopy visible above water.

The CAF's B-25 "Show Me" was inside the hangar, with the left engine removed. Distance and light conditions were not conductive for a good shot.

Boeing must be doing some radar cross-section testing with the Eagle and Hornet mounted on towers. We had the same kind of arrangement at our McKinney, Texas, antenna range for several years using an upside-down F-16. Makes for some interesting photos.

I sure hope the water doesn't rise any further. Those folks have had quite enough!

Cheers!

Nope. The B-17 is down for maintenance and annual, and the B-25 is on tour wa-a-a-ay up north (Washington state, then Canada and Alaska, as I recall). I'll be on vacation in Europe at that time, so I won't be there either.

Take lots of pics and post 'em, Lynn!

Cheers!
