We flew up to Lancaster, Texas today for the Red Star fly in. Visited the cold war museum

Holy crap, are they actually flying that Hind? I would like to know where they got the financial benefactor to afford that!

Yes, the Hind will fly. Sooner than you expect (but not in time for Oshkosh unfortunately). As for cost, it's actually a lot cheaper than it would seem. By the numbers, it's not bad on fuel, and parts are still relatively inexpensive as there's several countries phasing out the D model and thus they have spare stores that they're surplussing.
I'm pissed though. I was supposed to be there today and got called into work...
