This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The colors for the 147th Fighter Interceptor Wing were officially cased today. The new 147th Reconnaisance Wing was activated. The F-16s flew for the last time today in Houston and a Predator was on display.
The event was supposed to be an upbeat change of mission. It felt more like a wake. When they rolled out the ribbon to cut for the opening of the new Predator control building, a bunch of us thought it would have been appropriate if it was crime scene tape. A crime has surely been committed in Houston.
As of today the Collings Foundation has the last 147th manned fighter still flying. Our aircraft was originally taken to AMARC by the 147th in 19990.

Wow, how sad. Are any of the former F-16 pilots going to stay in the unit and fly the Predators? Also, who is going to be providing ADIZ patrol?
