Seriously... after a few questions I discovered Vintage Wings is actually looking to hire two AMEs, so if you are qualified and live in South Eastern Ontario or South Western Quebec (or are willing to relocate) you may wish to seriously consider this opportunity. I find VWoC and excellant place to volunteer. I have asked the mechanics there what they think of working there and their comments are always glowing. Now considering the collection they have (2x Hurris, Spit, Mustang, DH-82, Lizzie, String Bag, Harvard, Corsair, Staggerwing, Taperwing... and then there are potential future acquisitions) the new hire would have an opportunity to work on some very interesting aircraft. Obvioulsy they are looking for the skills, but they will also be looking for people who can work as part of a cooperative team.

Fellars, I aint no wrench bender! I have heard them fellars have two Seasons up there (Winter and June 8th) Besides I beleive I had renumeration once't and it hurt like He!!.

Thanks to Vulture for posting this. Hopefully a skilled AME Canuck (or more than one!) will read this and think about applying. Vintage Wings is a respectable organization with more to offer than the pay to an employ, i.e. being part of something really special. This is not just a feel good warm fuzzy statement. For example seeing the smile of a veteran's face as he observes and AME working on a plane type he once flew, smiling because he knows that AME is taking good care of it and something of his legacy will be preserved. As a volunteer I have see that happen more than once, and the guys working on the planes more so. Of course you need to be worried about making a living first, but assuming you properly negotiate that and the benefits, there is that other bonus you can't put a price on.

VWoC is seriously looking for AMEs to help press their mission forward.

This is all coming from a volunteer, an observer, of Vintage Wings and the operation. I am not acting as an official recruiter or spokesperson.

Sorry for kind of helping turn this thread into more of a fun thing than a serious thing. I know the Vintage Wings of Canada folks are needing some good help and they have some outstanding aircraft. Hopefully they'll find someone soon. If I hear of anyone that may work good in that position, I'll be sure to pass along the info in this thread.
