gun camera still - 55th FG vs. FW-190's

Thu May 15, 2008 4:04 am

Hi all

further to the 363rd FG stills showing a RAF Typhoon, here's something I'd like to share. This photograph came with a package of 55th FG P-51 originals - it shows three FW-190's under attack... the FW-190 at the bottom left is pretty close. I have no further info, i.e. pilot, date, etc. but all the same it's a great shot of "a moment frozen in time"

Interesting shot, any idea when and where?
With the altitude and 190s still with droptanks they may have just got airborne?

Talk about tailgating, wow that's close!

That close that machine guns could fire aside of the Focke Wulf :P What is the final fate of the German fighter plane?

center him up...
press the button..
kick left rudder...
kick right rudder...
If that doesn't do it...
hold the button and flick the stick forward (but not for long Yikes, that is low) then pull up through the pipper and with all six going that should light up his wing tanks...
get out the marshmellows.

Thanks for posting a great pic.
