Vulcan to fly at Farnborough ?

Wed Apr 30, 2008 7:01 pm

I've read somewhere else that the Vulcan would be scheduled to appear at Farnborough...

Anybody has info on this ? Is it only a rumor or they actually have the $$$ to make this happen ?

I would sure love to see it fly !

The sight of a Vulcan flying display would be worth a trip to the United Kingdom, wouldn't it!? We were fortunate to see the Vulcan fly at the Offutt AFB open house several times in the seventies and early eighties, and I will never cease to be impressed with the maneuverability and sound of that machine.

I spoke to one of the people involved with the Vulcan project once. He said that one of the (many) plans for it was a display season in the U.S. This was a few years ago so it all might have changed, but if it does venture over to that side of the pond, I urge you all to go and see it. The Vulcan was one of the reasons why that they invented air shows!

Hmmm, I'd like to know a bit more about that if that is still on the table!
