I know there are some Warbird shows in production, but if you could have your say to the networks...
What would your ideal warbird TV show look like?

Bah, bah black sheep ! Oh wait, it's been done already... Ok then, 12 o'clock high ! Shoot, that too has been done... Hmmm...
You know what ? I'd be pleased with anything at all, as long as there is lots of warbird action and flight sequences. I would even cope with some romance if need be. Hey, maybe my wife would enjoy the show too ! She already likes warbirds...
My take is that we desperately need warbirds TV shows ! At this point, almost anything would do...

Chop Cut Rebuild is a car based show that deals with several different projects going on at the same time. Each show has two to three segments, each involving a different car and its progress over the course of the season. Something like that, but involving warbird restorations would be very interesting.

Warbird Hunters! I can see it now. My TIVO is set for this show.
This week:
We travel to Mt. Cyclops and find the exact spot where an extremely rare WW2 Night Fighter was discovered and salvaged. From there we go to the sleepy little town in Eastern Pennsylvania and see the restoration.
Then were off to Greenland to see two restorations in the process-one German another American where the retrace the Steps of the Greenland Expedition of the early 80's recovering a rare Early model P-38. Then on to the restoration in Eastern Kentucky and then onto the Aircracft known as Glacier Girl.
Next week ....An Fw-190 retrieved from Russia in the 1990's and now being restored as part of the Allen Collection in Washington State. We also visit the FW-189 also being restored for this collection.
I can see it now.

I've sent a pitch of a Warbird restoration show to a certain network producer.

NOOOOOO! Don't do it FFS!!
I've worked on Rides & also Overhauling. You REALLY don't want those bozos around aircraft!
Nothing quite like showing up for work at 8am & then having to sit out in the frigging parking lot while some halfwit installs & removes the SAME bloody wheel 87 times to get the "right shot".. while you piss away the entire bloody day with your thumb up your keester & then get told TWELVE hours after you showed up that you can now get to work, but will have to stop again in 45 minutes because they "now have the axle installed correctly" & want to get a shot of the effing wheel going back on again."
Can you imagine having to jack up & let down a P51 28 times in the space of a day to "get the right shot"??
AND those blithering idiots think nothing of working from 6am thru til 3am the next morning.. during which time you HAVE to be there to make sure they "don't do an Affleck" & push the wrong bloody button.. & while all that is going on your entire days productivity with 6 people on the payroll is the installation of 3 dozen rivets & 2 cotter pins....

There is a Tank restoration program on Digital Comcast Cable, it is pretty interesting, but is filmed sort of documentary style over the life of the restoration. I would love to see something warbirdesque in this style of show.

Wellll...not sure a restoration show would be very attractive to a network. I don't think they'd want to invest as much time as it takes to do an aircraft restoration. What's a minimum? Not less than a couple of years, I'm sure.
