While We're Talking About Thunderbolts

Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:33 pm

Hi All,

I was curious, given that the Thunder Over Michigan Airshow is dedicated to the P-47 this year. I was curious as to the status of the the 2 or 3 airframes that were dug out of a pit, along with a P-40 if my memory serves me well. These Jugs were alledgedly Combat Veteran Razorback models. Last I heard was that they were back in the states and all being restored to airworthy status.

Can anyone shed any recent light on these airframes and their restoration status....IE, where are they and how far have they progressed ??

Respectfully,

Paul

I would also like to hear any available information on the restoration of these T-Bolts. Every additional P-47 we can get airworthy is great news!!

There was a captioned photo in Air Comix a couple of years ago about one of them. I don't think that there has been much progress on that one due to other priorities.

What about that yellow tailed P-47. Is the rebuild complete yet? It's been a couple years.

Does anyone know what Bill Klaers, Alan Wolcjac, or Westpac Restorations, have in the way of their workshop as far as P-47 projects?
Thanks
