Jason/Gary ~ How goes progress on "FiFi" ?

Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:23 am

I thought it might make sense to start a new thread for FIFI as the engine build and other maintenance items progress.

Just a thought..............

Is it okay if I interject an occasional comment/update on FIFI's progress as well?

Didn't take it that way...just wanted y'all to know that I'm still involved just a tiny bit with that ol' clunker. ;-)

And your update for today would say???

Andy is changing the #3 fuel tank boost pump. Jeff Abbott is working on the first of the new engines. Jim Ballard is tinkering with some wiring for Testiclese (our engine test stand, for those of you who aren't familiar with it). And Jason and I are just standing around, looking at it, scratching our heads wondering how we got ourselves in this mess.

Actually Gary if ya don't mind I'd like a front line report from Col Mossie. 8)

Seen any long slinky noisey critters that make that funny sound yet this year?

Good point, Jack. I'll have my people contact his people and see if I can make an appointment for an interview. :)

We've only "neutralized" two little rattlers this year so far...but stay tuned.

Isn't that how we all look at some point during a project? :)

BTW, did Kermit's stuff take any damage at Nelson's place during the storm and if so, do they have any idea how much it's going to setback that part of the project?

Did look like it did but I'll look at it again tomorrow....

The borrowed stuff from Kermit was not hurt whatsoever. We got quite lucky there and feel quite fortunate.

Great to hear. It looked kinda close since all that stuff was on the far side from the corner of Nelson's hangar that got hit, so I was kinda wondering if they took any "missile" damage since no one had said anything yet.

Can't wait to see that first engine hung on Testiclese and your (or Jason's) first video on here of running it. :)
