391st Bomb Group Restaurant

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but....
Does anyone know if the 391st Bomb Group Restaurant in West Palm Beach, FL. at PBIA is for sale or is the land being annexed by the county for expansion of the airport.
I lived there for 2 years and never had a chance to go there before it closed.
It would be nice if the property is for sale for someone to buy it and continue the theme of the establishment.
It always looked really cool driving by. They had a c-47, a corsair and a p-47 out front (I think the fighters were fiberglass reproductions).
Any info would be appreciated.

Was that one of Dave Tallichet's restaurants? And what is the status of those, now he is gone? Wil they be kept going? I always liked their atmosphere. (Air Transport Command, in Wilmington Del. is one of his I think)

With regard to the restaurants of the Late Ever So Great Mr. Dave Tallichet...Ya got me there....I believe that he also had a restaurant in the immediate proximity of PDK in Doraville, GA, I stopped by there and the driveway was locked, and a kind Dekalb County Deputy Sheriff's told me that he believed that this one had been sold. To Whom, I'haven't a clue. So, maybe that one too has made a final approach into some one eles's hands.

From what I hear it closed a year ago and the lot is for sale,not sure what happened to the display's, I'll check. Here's a pic of a 24 I took back in 88 at the rest.

I left in Aug. '08 and the displays were still there. They got pretty torn up by Wilma but they were there along with a Jeep and maybe a Sherman?

Pat Epps bought The 57th Fighter Group restaurant at PDK a short period of time before the passing of David Tallichet. It has been used for private company functions (Epps Aviation), but otherwise it is idle. I am not sure of his plans for it.

I went to the restaurant in Chicago, and honestly was not very impressed. I desperately wanted to like it.

Good Ole Epps ... I experianced my first flight in an Epps Cessna back in the late 60's... quite something to fly an airplane, but as a "disadvantaged" kid (broke) I could never pursue my desire to fly, then there was a wife and kids and bills and bills and bills and bills....*looks at the .45*

I was working with WPB late last year reagarding doing a stop on the tour there at what used to be the 391st. The company that owns a majority of those restaurants is run by one of Dave's sons, so they should continue to operate. As for the one at WPB they still have a lease on the property, and have been trying to get something to come in and take over the spot. As of December 07 the airport did not have control of the area and they could not give us permission to park the aircraft there for a few days.

I don't know about any of them except the "Early Bird" restaurant at LAX. I went to that one a few weeks ago and specifically asked one of the management types about it's future status in light of Dave's passing. She said that one of Dave's sons had taken over and the "Early Bird" restaurant would remain open.

If it opens again, it wont be like it was. All of the Vehicles were sold to a collector in S.Fla. BTW, was A Stuart, not a sherman.
