B-25 Bombardier/Navigator Interview

Thu Mar 20, 2008 2:41 pm

Hi All:

Brad Ingstad, a young friend of mine here at Boeing put together a tribute video for his family about his Grandad and Grandmother during the war.

His Grandad was a B-25 Bombardier/Navigator in the Pacific Theater flying against the Japanese home islands, and recently passed away, and I believe his Grandmother worked at a shipyard. The video is a 3-part tribute on YouTube, with the first part being about the Grandparents and how they met. Parts 2 & 3 were filmed at the Tillamook Air Museum in Oregon, using thier "Silver Lady" B-25 as a backdrop, and includes his Grandad talking about his job on the plane and during the missions. Brad cut old newsreel film into the interview for effect, and never mind that it's not always focused on B-25s (as he said he had some difficulty always finding appropriate B-25 footage for the particular scene in the public domain), as I found the footage and interview to be very interesting. You might wish to give it a watch if you're interested in this type of video.

Keep 'em flying...
