This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

It's official folks!
The Collings Foundation acquired Max Chapman's North American TP-51C Mustang "Betty Jane" (42-103293) as of last week and the P-51C will be joining the B-17, B-24, and B-25 on tour as part of the Wings of Freedom Tour!
Beginning at the Dallas, TX visit, visitors will be able to view the "little friend" alongside the bombers it defended. Since the aircraft is a full-dual control "T" model, flight training in the aircraft will be offered.

This is one of the things I love most about this place. I've never heard of this a/c before and didn't know the 'razorback' ever came in dual control configuration. I thought it was only the 'D' models that were dual controls.
Was this an original setup or something someone modified?
Thanks!

It recreates a WW P-51B that was turned into a dual control aircraft during WWII in England.

The original just had a jump seat and no controls. The current paint job is Col Charles McCorkle CO 31st FG MTO 1944
