DUDE! What did he do? strafe Burbank over a long weekend? or are those for every mission the aircraft flew?
Someone has GOT to do a decal sheet of this!!!
Also notice that the prop sync mirror on the R/H inboard nacelle is either smudged over or painted over-

I kinda prefer the term 'flying scoreboards'... it ain't original, but it rolls off the tongue real nice...

Anyhoo, here's a local hero's ride.... Lt. Walter Grabowski, 511th FS, 405th FG.

Walter was the type of guy who could immediately leave a big impression on you. He was a generous man,
both with his time and his memories, and was a pretty cool guy to just sit and jaw with...

Peter - (40) that looks like Gablingen where the 405th parked after 355th left in 1946?

Any details on the location?

Straubing, Germany

On German airfields, the Hangars were more or less standard buildings and therefore it sometimes is difficult to identify the base. Identical hangars were located at Oberpfaffenhofen, Neubiberg, Kaufbeuren, Gablingen, Giebelstadt... just to name a few...

GUNNYPERDUE-
Thanks for the info, over the years (and thousands of articles written about the '38) I've seen that panel referred to as both nose gear visual and prop sync panel-

That was this last summer in Afghanistan. All the names were pulled off the jets for the deployment.

Magoo was the CC when I first arrived, but the boss during last years' deployment was Stoner Stone.

Since 'my' jet didn't even deploy, I can't show off the markings on the jet that has my name on it (there aren't any!). So, I used the flagship instead.

:)

EDIT: Can anyone (BESIDES you, Gunny!!) figure out what all the ordnance is that was dropped? The silhouettes are pretty accurate depictions of the actual weapons.
