Pics from USS Ranger, CVA 61, 1957

Here are some photos taken on the shakedown cruise of the USS Ranger, CVA 61, in 1957. The ship was is Guantanamo Bay when the photos were taken. The guy in the pics is a friend of mine, Pete Wingard. Pete was an electronics and radar technician with VF-14. The jet fighter is a McDonnell F3H Demon. The helo is a Piasecki Retriever.

Fan-bloody-tastic shots! It's always great to see good pics of the Demon, a strangely interesting aircraft. Thanks very much for posting these!
