My friend Cy Gladen told me once he and some buddies tried fishing in the Tenavatu River on Guadalcanal. They threw a couple grenades in the waters but all that came up were corpes No fish fry that night

I had two uncles in the CBI, one of whom flew C-54s over the hump. My parents have a photo of them somewhere in Burma, going tiger hunting with Thompson SMGs! I doubt they bagged one, as I would have heard all about it as a kid.
