A Visit to the Lone Star Flight Museum

Tue Jan 22, 2008 5:13 pm

The Scout Troop and I were in Galveston over the weekend...while most of the boys and adults wanted to visit Moody Gardens (fine place) I elected to go to the LSFM and persuaded 2 other adults and 3 boys to go with me!

A few highlights...

My first ever Hurricane sighting...I can't believe I have not seen one of these beautiful machines before.

Great stuff, Zane! I gotta get down there myself some time.

Wow... it must be nice to work in a clean hangar with plenty of light. . .

Cheers!

Was the A-20 still down there, or has it left for Aussie land yet? What is the latest on that, timeline-wise?

The A-20 is gone from Lone Star but at last check has not left Galveston. The last time I saw it it was being prepped for a ferry flight in a hanger across the apron from the flight museum. The engines were off.

Any more pics?

What did the Dads and kids who went with you think of it all?
