Cockpit Light ID needed

Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:22 am

Hi Guys and Gals, Once again I have another ID question on a part.

This part is off a CA-12 Boomerang /CAC Wirraway but apparently was originally made under licence to a US part and was used in a variety of WW2 US aircraft. Problem is I've never seen any like it in the US cockpit shots i've seen.

So I throw it out to the fine people here to see if anyone knows the specs of it and if possible which US aircraft it was fitted to.

Reason for asking is that I need another one, and as genuine Aussie ones are hard enough to find, I was hoping to find one over in the states; and as I am clueless as to the model number or maker i'm up the creek without a paddle :D

Pre-WWII part

Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:15 am

I have seen them. My understanding is they are pre-WWII instrument illumination lights. They were also used as map lights in some WWII bombers at navigation stations. I may have a few but will have to dig deep to find them.
