On "Yankee Lady" I noticed the Waist gun section's interior is a completely different color than the radio room and forward. Why is that? Was that how it was on B-17's during the war? She is a beautiful restoration none the less.

NMUSAF Museum's "Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby" is the same. The color in the crew spaces is Dull Dark Green, which is actually correct for both B-17s and B-24s. On wartime Forts and Libs, the waist sections were usually bare metal..but they're usually painted zinc chromate or interior green on restored birds for corrosion protection (something that was a lower priority when the planes were built, since they had an average sexpected service life of less than six months.)
