Anyone know more about this and if the pilot made it out? Appears to be BuNo. 1249XX. BuNo. 124940 - 125029 were F2H-2 Banshee production.

1953 Med Cruise - F2H-2 of VF-62 in the water off of Coral Sea(CVA-43). Note that the entire tailplane has been wrenched loose, probably from a barrier strike. [From November 2004 issue of Airpower Magazine]
