Great pics of the F-51!
It may have been one of the two that the US Army operated in the early 1970's as chase aircraft for the Lockheed AH-56A Cheyenne helicopter trials.
What year was the pic taken?
Maybe some Army General used it as transportation to visit the Stratford Army Engine Plant (old Vought factory)!

I think the pic. was shot 75.I dont remember seeing it when I worked there, but it might have been used for developing purposes for the lycoming powered enforcer.Not sure getting old!!
