Here are some pictures from Lackland AFB today.
Was there on the occasion of a friend letting me and some of my family fly the C-5B simulator.

The F-4 in front of the local National Guard F-16 unit.

Image
F-16s from the unit taking off behind C-5Bs - of which there were at least 8+ on the ramp!

More C-5Bs

Saw this plane (RB-66?) being worked on...

More shots...

Image
Guess they were sanding the plane, before touching up the paint... :?

The parade ground planes are still there...

When I went through the 3711 BMTS had a silver F-105. In July heat, the waxing detail was for those who really pissed off the Drill Sgt.

I was last down there about 12 years ago.

Those are cool pics. THanks for posting. You might want to ask about posting the pics of the flight line. I am pretty sure that the military is sort of against it. I just don't want to see you get in trouble. But the pics of the museum aircraft are sweet.

I don't think I've posted anything that cannot be seen from the other (civilian) side of the flight line. If I have, I will take them down ASAP.

No No what I mean is that sometimes you get in trouble taking them at bases. I think it just depends. It;s all good. I just didn't want you to get in trouble at a base.

Ryan...thanx a bunch for the pix!!! Brings back some memories for an old fart like me also :D

The RB-66 was parked in front of our basic training barracks when I was there in...19**. I have several pix of the parade grounds from when I was stationed there. Still had the B-24 and not the fugly fibreglass replica that is there now. Someday hope to scan all of my old pix from there and be able to figure out how to post them here...someday

Thanx again for the pix!

If any of y'all ever get up to the San Angelo area, give a holler (in advance) and I'll see if I can break free to give you a tour of our "petting zoo"
