That's insane! A 20ft. Wingspan, and over 108lbs of thrust (which translates into about 1000hp). WoW!

Each one of those turbines is in the $3,000-$4,000 range. I'd say you're easily looking at a cost of around $20,000-$25,000 just for materials for that C-17. My RC P-47 with a 7 1/2' wingspan cost around $2,000 to build. And that's with just one engine that sells for $425. I bet they manufactured a lot of stuff themselves for that bird. I'd love to see what the landing gear looks like.
