Sharing my warbird with the future military.

Sat Dec 15, 2007 7:26 pm

I have been talking to the JROTC officers of 3 local high schools to assist in any way to share my PT23 with their students. They all are VERY responsive.
I think It's important to let the young kids who are thinking of a military future to not only see a piece of military aviation history but actually have an opportunity to fly in an old warbird. I have offered a 30 minute ride each quarter to whichever cadet [ with parental consent ] the JROTC officer in each school deems worthy.
Sometime in the next week or two I will have the honor to give a ride to a young Naval Academy Cadet officer in her second year at Annapolis who was a JROTC student of Brooksville Fl high school and will be home for Christmas. I will try to get a picture of her in the airplane and post it here.
Riding with the Patriot Guard Riders on my motorcycle and sharing the PT23 is my way to support the troops.
