i remember as a kid i built a monogram avenger, & thought the turret should be flush with the rear canopy, i didn't know there was an open air gap between the 2. naturally........ serious aaa fire ensued from the ole trusty bb gun or fire crackers after i f'd up the model.

Now there is a young man who truly gave his life in the service of his country. Hadn't been young men like him with balls of steel, the Battle pf Midway would have been a turning point...in the other direction.

Thanks Jack. See, this is why I enjoy so many of your pics. Not only do we get to see some of our favorite Warbirds in action, but also there is a personal side to it. You’re also able to add in the squadron and usually pilots/crew! This brave young man probably wouldn’t have been brought to so many people's eyes and minds if it weren’t for you!
