Remember Pearl Harbor!!!!!!!

Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:58 am

I'm sorry to say I needed a reminder this year, and boy did I just get it!

I arrived a little late to work today and got to my office parking lot at 10:30 am, which is in Farmingdale NY about a mile north of the approach end of Rwy 19 at KFRG. (This is home of course to J Clyman's American Airpower Museum).

I get out of my car and hear the umistakable sound of inline V-12's. I look up and there is Bob and Chris Baranaskas with the P-51 and P-40 in a TIGHT echelon formation, buzzed right over me at 500' on their way for a low pass and break for landing on Rwy 19.

What a great way to start the workday, and a great reminder, "oh yes today is Dec 7th."

They will be flying with the Skytypers and other vintage aircraft to circle the SOL and drop the roses on her at 12:55 pm ET (7:55 am Hawaii time) to commemorate the anniversary.

Cheers,
Peter
