Airshow locations

Mon Nov 26, 2007 2:20 pm

I have heard that Minter field in central California is ONE of the most desirable locations to have an airshow ... for many reasons.

1. Centrally located for the many west coast Warbirds

2. Great weather

3. Easy to drive to and parking is great, within reason, Cal residents only.

4. Probably most important, unlimited airspace and the airport does not restrict airspeed, which means that you can "open her up" ... if you want. I believe this to be true anyway.

5. Comped Fuel, etc.

keeping only to the USA, anyone have a better place?

Midland? TOM? Oshkosh? Chino? Alaska? ...

I guess if you're a warbird owner who attends airshows across the country, which stands out above all the others?

Some other things to consider, at least for the less glamorous aircraft:

-Fuel/appearance fees
-No restriction shenanigans with the onsite concession company
-Hangar party
