Aspen for new years

Sun Nov 25, 2007 8:57 pm

Bill, is your spit in a locked, warm hanger in Aspen for the winter? or somewhere else? .. going to be in Aspen for a little skiing and trouble-making for new years. You going to be around? Also any WIXers who are skiiers, come on out. I can work on a good deal for ya to come out. I know Aspen is a bit pricey, but if you know some people, things can be cheaper ... lololol, hopefully. I know I need a good ski trip this year.

Bill, PM me if you would like to meet. Love to meet ya.

A bird nice as that needs a warm home for the holidays!

No warbird related groups nearby have any hanger space to donate?

Aspen has some lean to s that lease for over $63,000, most up front, for 15 years. There is a small maintenance hangar, and only one large storage hangar which rents for about $400 per night. The outside cold doesn't hurt the Spitfire as much as the harsh ultraviolet rays the rest of the year. Any skier coming to visit would probably like Aspen, once we get some snow. There are 4 separate mountains; kind of like owning a T-6, P-51, DC-3, and B-17. For novices, one mt is the best place to learn to ski I know of. And there is plenty of other moderate and expert stuff too.
I'd enjoy meeting WIX folks, most of them, if you are in town. We got a trace of new snow this AM, but it is not worth skiing unless there is a couple of feet more. There are ladies World Cup races here Dec 9 and there is already enough man made snow for this.
