Is there any ofthe ex-Spanish air force machines flying in the states, that still have Spanish markings? I remember seeing a few back in the eighties.

This one was up for sale at Courtesy Aircraft during Oct. 2006. It is currently registered to a gentleman in Oak Park Ill. but I don't know if it is still painted in Spanish Air Force colors today

I don't have any other info, but it's the FiO you want:

Tim Savage:
Were any of the T-6s that you acquired from Dwayne Shanks, former Spanish aircraft? IIRC when I saw them in Kansas, there were some Spanish AF (EdA) serial visible.
Saludos,
Tulio

Hi Tulio-
We didn't get any intact airframes in our purchase. Either they were sold before we got there or they were destroyed in the tornado. We did get one badly mangled tail cone and it was from the Mexican AF. A couple nice cockpit trusses also survived the tornado.

Thanks, Tim.
I'll have to check my photos of that visit, and see if there were any shots of Spanish AF serial numbers.
Saludos,
Tulio

Hi Tim, Very sad to hear about so much damage to the T-6's due to the tornado. How many airframes were written off? This is the first I've heard of it.

Hi Richard-
I don't know if there were any intact airframes destroyed in the tornado. I was never there beforehand. When Tulio visited there apparently were. Not sure if those were sold prior to the tornado or where destroyed in it. What I do know is that we didn't get any intact airframes with our purchase. We did get two truckloads of little parts, which are more important to us for what we do.
