This is my introduction to WIX. My name is Garrett I live in Everett Washington. I have been around aviation all of my life, my first ride in a airplane occurred when I was four yrs. old it was in a Mooney 21 and we went for a ride over the gulf of Mexico, it is a ride I will never forget! My career in aviation began with Alaska air lines in the early 1990's this was my first real job and my fist in aviation, it was only baggage and cargo handling but I was able to be around aircraft. My next stop was at BF Goodrich in Everett there I was able to learn about aircraft construction, repair and overhaul, I took this job very seriously because I am well aware of the ramifications of doing shotty or lack luster maintenance. I worked for Goodrich until 2001 when I took a lay off. My next stop was at the ME 262 Project this is where I really learned how to fabricate sheet metal! I now have a new job I work for Boeing the pay and benefits are great but it is not the ME 262 Project! The best part of working at the 262 is getting to talk to the veterans of WWII. I love to hear the stories of the greatest generation! The one thing that all who faced the ME 262 have said is " what the HELL was that?" Even the German vet's said the same! There have been a lot of up's and downs while working at the 262 project everyone knows about the plane going in the ditch a few years ago everyone knows about the project move from Texas but what most people do not realize is the amount of love, blood, sweat and tears that have gone into reproducing the ME 262. I am here to learn from everyone on WIX and answer questions, There are some very exciting things happening at Paine field it is quickly becoming a hot bed of warbirds! The flying heritage collection is moving a stones throw from the 262 project there is a new FBO/museum going in and the owner has a T-6 a P-51 (HELL ER BUST) it is also rumored that he owns a F7F Tigercat. If anyone has a question hit me up and I will do my best to answer it.

Welcome aboard. Proud to say I had a 'little' imput into the 262 project providing photographic details of the AWM example which I crawled over and under back in 99, and also for Hammer's current restoration project.
You guys have done a wonderful job recreating the legend, keep up the good work!
