old AIR CLASSICS magazines wanted

Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:10 am

Hi,

I'm keen to seek out anyone who might have
old issues of the US magazine Air Classics in
their collection?

I'm looking for issues dating from March through July
of 1977 in the hope they may contain news concerning
the use of Avenger warbirds in the film "Close Encounters
of the Third Kind".

Cheers
Simon

I checked my March and July issue, nothing there. I do know the TBM # 82 that was started in the movie is the TBM owned by the CAF and is now based in Colorado.

Don't forget. One of those Avengers was actually a Hellcat

Thats right, it was N4994V Planes of Fame.
Two Avengers are N53503 and N33BM.

The two mysteries are I believe:
N7835C Planes of Fame
N86280 Tom Willford
Trouble is I can't get confirmation which
is where I was hoping the old Air Classics
might come in.
