Grumman F4U-4 Corsair at Wally's mart

That's right.....GRUMMAN F4U-4 Corsair flying model from Estes rockets, complete with remote....

Now I know what with all the major corporation mergers that Boeing owns Douglas owns Grumman owns Lockheed and so on...all very confusing....but I'm PRETTY sure that during WWII Grumman was Grummand and Vought was Vought.....come on toy manufacturers...get it RIGHT...


Pretty soon we'll have kids saying they have a great Grumman Corsair flying model plane at home that they play with....and the old folks will roll their eyes...

"Corsair is a registered trademark of Northrup-Grumman & used under license. "

Better change the history books.....

I had the Estes R/C P-47 for a while - it flew really well about a dozen times before I lost control and kamikazied it into a tree...

But it is, or was at the time. They owned Vought. Northrop-Grumman has since sold Vought to the Carlyle Group.

Note that they did spell Northrop wrong though.

At the time they created the Corsair...they were Vought....it is the Vought Corsair....not the Grumman Corsair. I intend on alerting Estes to amend the box.

It says it is a registered trademark, not that Grumman designed and built the dang thing...
