Lancaster NX611 Night Run Photos

Sun Nov 04, 2007 9:06 pm

Saturday's night run at East Kirkby was a moving occasion where a huge crowd stood in awe of Just Jane and tried to envisage how such a scene was repeated countless times at fields across Lincolnshire over sixty years ago.

East Kirkby's a very special place, it's not a place to visit just the once and forget about. I've often joked about the night run being an annual pilgrimage but it's not far from the truth. Anyone who has felt the need to ask the question about whether Just Jane needs to fly got their answer on Saturday night. This Lancaster's quite capable of holding a crowd's complete attention whilst firmly planted on the ground.

Even tho I never got to see her run, I did get to check the place out back in 2000 with some UK friends of mine...

Whatever happened to the HP Hampden stored away in one of the other sheds?

Also the Tower there on the field is reputed to be one of the most haunted towers in the UK

Mark, the Hampden's still there but progress appears to be slow.
