Hey......thanks so much for posting that video link! I have always appreciated Bob Hoover's excellent piloting skills.

I listened to Bob speak at the Legends tent during the Gathering. Very interesting stuff. I was a little sad to note that Bob has noticeably aged since the last time I saw him. I sure hope he is around for many more years!

I have that film on DVD. It is part of a 2 DVD set, entitled, "F-86 Sabre". It is THE definitive documentary on the F-86. The company that made it - Aircraft Films, unfortunately is no longer in business. They made some awesome DVD's on various airplanes. The one they made on the F4U Corsair was simply stunning! It contained more color footage on that one boxed set than I have seen in all my years of watching color Corsair footage.

Aircraft Films was THE documentary company in aviation history. They would go to the National Archives and retrieve all kinds of lost footage, many of it in color, to include on their DVD's. Next they would digitally clean up the footage, color correct it and put it on their DVD's.

Besides the Corsair one, their digitally remastered version of the original "Memphis Belle" documentary is superb!

Too bad they don't make any more DVD's, Aircraft Films was the best company in the world for aviation documentaries.

I remember his shows at Oshkosh in the 70's in an F-86. A little bit more aggressive show with spins at a lower altitude than you would think.
