Haunted Aircraft

I’ve been told by museum volunteers, that the B-29 on display at Castle is haunted. In the spirit of the season, are there any other haunted aircraft out there?

I don't remember the exact details, but I think there's a museum in Kansas that has a haunted TBM.

Wild Hawg is supposed to be haunted as there was some strange goings on when she was being restored. Also the Lincoln at Cosford is supposed to be hauted as well.

Most notably off the top of my head is "Black Maria" or "Mariah" the Spec Ops CH-3C (20th Helicopter Squadron).

Also some of "Lady Be Good's" parts that are on display.

There are several other accounts of "things that go bump" at the museum and several books of the different accounts. "Haunted Ohio" in one the volumes covers the NMUSAF.

I never heard that about Black Mariah. I am friends with Jack who was her pilot during the war. He has some great stories to tell about flying in that thing. I can believe that the LBG parts are haunted. I have told you all the one story about the lady thanking us for having reenactors, when we have none. That is about the only thing I have seen.

OK, so its not a plane but. . .

The barracks here in Wendover are certainly "home" to a few spirits. My brother and I clearly saw a barracks door open and shut accompanied by a 'distortion' on a completely windless evening a few years ago.

I was at the museum when she was put on display. And was told by some of the staffers that there was still evidence of dried biological material in certain areas of the aircraft. leading to the aircraft's clouded history.

Also some years ago there was a supposed "Psychic" that toured the museum after hours with "No" knowledge of any of the aircrafts histories.

The CH-3, the NAVY F-4 cockpit were some of the aircraft that she was drawn to and away from during her tour. As having traumatic events taken place in them.

The NMUSAF would make a great place for the TAPS folks to come out and investigate. But it would be a massive undertaking for them I'm afraid.

As far as the NMUSAF, I have heard for years that on "the right night" a ghost can be seen in the helicopter "Hop-A-Long". I've also heard thare are blood stains on the seat.
I seem to remember that the XB-70 had a ghost story or two attached to it
