IN-FREAKIN'-CREDIBLE!

That's some serious airmanship coupled with some serious cajones! They couldn't be more than 3 feet above those treetops, being tossed about in that turbulent air, and flying literally on the verge of disaster! Even Hollyweird couldn't dream that up! Great stuff!

Wow. . .

If you look closely on that first pass, you can see the treetops moving out of his way.

Those guys do great work. It's cool that we have a fellow WIXer doing his part to fight those fires as well. Be careful out there Larry!

Yea, it's great having Larry on the spot for both reasons, but it also shows what a tough job it is. That said the CL guys have a great safety record, considering, as do the Mars.

You too can become a CL415 pilot. If you'd like a go:

NB the 'up' and 'down' keys are reversed. Ooops!

Are they? Think of what you do to fly an airplane in real life. :)

Ummm. Well, I'd start with scaring everybody, as I'm not a pilot. :D Were I a pilot I'd rather have a stick and throttle than a keyboard, but I'm sure you are right.

Press the up key, cows get bigger...

Boy that is some flying going on there!
Just watch the rudder going back and forth.
WOW!
Thanks for posting the link Mike, it really goes to show everyone why these guys are professionals.

I seen this on another forum which said the 415 is from Keebec! Viva la French Canucks! They fly like they drive!

Press the down key, the cows get smaller. Keep pressing the down key, the cows get bigger really fast....

Yeah, if you think of it from a flying perspective it makes more sense, but if you're used to playing arcade games it might not. Either way, it's pretty challenging. There's another version out there in English, but I can't find it for the life of me right now.

The French isn't too hard, left right down up (or up down :D ) spacebar for drop, keep going until you've put the fire(s) out and you go up a 'cloud'.

Simple though this is, and obviously bears as much relationship to real firebombing as I do to Eric 'Winkle' Brown, it does make you think about the nature of the real challenge a bit more.

That is some flying!

I have great respect and admiration for these flyers...it's like civilian combat.

And the game....
Argh! Don't hit the birds....where do I get that 20 minutes of my life back?
