If the story is true...
I guess with all the pressure from the Russians...(as tactical nukes are currently discouraged....)
this may be what they need.

that can quietly drop a 13,600kg bomb and destroy something several storeys[sic] below ground?

sounds as if an agenda is in the works by the u.s., this time we better produce the facts & not act on speculation.

Uhh... sorry guys, but this is old news. The B-2 modification has been in the works over 4 years ago when the concept for the MOAB and the MOP came together. The B-2 was the primary platform for which the MOP was designed. The capability became a need after the issues encountered dealing with the extreme hardening found in the Soviet-style bunker complexes in Iraq. While Iran may be a potential location to employ the MOP, it is by far not the only location that has hardened and/or deeply buried targets that may require use of such a weapon. The only thing that's happened is that the modification contract to actually modify the B-2s to be able to carry (and thus test) the weapon has finally been let after a lot of testing of the warhead and other systems in preparation for flight of the complete weapon.

Glad you did some basic research before taking the bait hook, line, and sinker. :(

Does the pit of stupidity that our government exists in have no bottom??? Our glorious leader smirks on TV while discussing the potential of using our military again to bomb an idea out of another country. It seems as though he should have paid a little more attention during history classes at his Ivy League school when the other gentlemen his age were getting their a$$es blown off in Vietnam fighting against an ideal.

Just when you think he can't get any more stupider...he opens his mouth and reassures us that he ain't done yet

I love my country...it is the government that I can do without!

Rant off...and fire at will :butthead:

Can we do without the political ranting on the main forum? The original post was okay, but almost everything since has been pretty much blatantly in violation of the rules. I come back to the thread thinking there's been a response and all I find is this. I'm sorry guys, but Scott's warned against political ranting on the forum, and this seems to be exactly what he's talking about.

Agreed on the political rants.

Can do without the rants and posters of rants just fine, thank you very much.
