James H. Defuria & Fred J. Ritts/Intercontinental Airway

I am interested in knowing more about the P-51s aquired by James H. Defuria & Fred J. Ritts. How many P-51s did they acquire in total? Were they bought with the intention to re-sell them? Where were they all stored?

Thanks

This was the outfit in Canastota, NY, correct?

If so, may I refer you to the book "The P-51 Mustang in Latin American Servica" by John Dienst and Dan Hagedorn?

Several of former RCAF Mustangs were reportedly exported to Guatemala.

As usual in these situations, there has been some disagreement as to the match-ups with local serial numbers vs. USAAF serials, but the book was in its time a very welcome source of data.

I would provide you with the ISBN number -that is, if you don't already have the book- but I have no access to my library at this time.

Lastly, the book has been out of print for several years, and there has not been a second edition.

Good luck!

Saludos,

Tulio
