An inspiration to us all.. I met Bill in 1994 when he had just moved into Lewisburg as I was on a stopover during my instrument checkride. We had all walked out to the road to watch the US Postal or whatever it was bike racing team ride through the area. What N number is this plane?

As far as I recall, N51HY. I'll have to go see it this Saturday in Charleston WV, saw it at OSH and GML. Bill is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. His son is a good guy too. I wish him the best with it.

I think as you can see he has a lot of respect for the P-51, I'd do the same thing if my son was flying one. (Come to think of it; I do when he is in the Cub)

Great writeup.

I've never met Bill, but I've traded emails with him a few times. A real gentleman.

I think it is great to see a warbird owner allow pwoplw to get in his aircarft, and touch it. Pretty cool.

Its a pretty bird.Fix the insignia to match the invasion strips and that will really set it off.

I don't have the piece in front of me, but the "mis-matched" look is deliberate. There is a specific reason for every color/design/etc. on that a/c, essentially to honor something. Hopefully some WIXer will have that info to share.[/code]
