Why not a GATHERING of PARATROOPERS?

Wed Oct 17, 2007 3:44 pm

I read the thread about getting the ADT team and some others together and I would like to suggest an event that would bring as many C-47s and WWII rigged jumpers to one of the air shows. An exercise could be held as a centerpiece of one of the shows such as Thunder over Michigan or the WWII weekend at Reading. How many jumpers from across the pond would join in to fill the ranks for a large scale maneuver? Why not try to do this on a large scale instead of a two or four plane jump?

THAT WOULD BE COOL !!

What a great idea for air and land based troops.

I would go to that show! No doubt!

What does everybody think? How many could reasonibly be brought in?
15-20? But remember, you need ground attack support. Might I suggest a healthy flight of Thunderbolts from fields near and far. 8)

I hosted my buddy James Megellas http://allthewayto.wordpress.com/about/ here in Houston at a gunshow this weekend and mentioned this idea. I asked if he would consider attending if a show like this were put together, and he was all for it!!!

I know it would be easy to get a contingent of WWII Paratroopers to attend, Its getting the actual qualified and rigged as WWII jumpers and planes together. It would be a natural for a place like Reading's WWII weekend in June. Several prominent 101st and 82nd vets live in the Philly area. Wild Bill Guarnere Forrest Guth and Jack Agnew for starters.
